Reindeer husbandry is an significant livelihood in Lapland. Reindeer herding as a way of life, in it's current form, is at least 500 years old.
On our reindeer farm visit tour you can see the reindeer up close, feed them and learn about the life of a reindeer, reindeer husbandry and meaning of a reindeer to the local people. Have you ever wondered how the reindeer can survive through winters and where the reindeers get their food?
Only a stone's throw away from Pyhä-Luosto national park locates traditional reindeerfarm where the owners herd their reindeer in the traditional way and according to northern nature’s cycles.
